My favorite mandolin player

I just came across some videos of my son, Caleb, playing his mandolin.  I believe this was a bluegrass band competition in Southern Pines last month.  He has moved on from this band, but you can bet he's still picking whenever he gets a chance.

  1. I am always amazed at Mandolin and Banjo pickers. Most of the time there is very little emotion shown. The last one was a little looser, all of them were good, I can hear the music now, the singing is still to far in the distance to bring in the words. I notice many guitar players are looser and more show.
My Grandson Stephen played the guitar by ear, very well. But his other grandparents and us decided both kids needed some formal lessons. One on the Piano the other guitar. Stephen said the first thing the teacher told him was you have to learn to 'show oft' that is part if the mystic of the guitar.
You do have a good mandolin players there, Imma try to grow hair like that!!!
    Love from shingle city.
Yeah the calls from my sons asked when could I deliver the shingles. Smart alecks.
