Garden peas

Usually the first thing I plant in the spring is garden peas, or English peas as they are known in these parts.  I put a lot of effort into digging up a place for them.  It's rewarding to see the little plants emerging in a row on each side of the wire pea fence I use.  I plant the Wando variety.  It is a heat tolerant variety, and we almost always have hot weather by the time the peas are producing.

    1. We are fortunate not to have a deer problem in our neighborhood (too many houses and dogs close together).
My parents have to keep and electric fence around their garden to keep the deer out.

  2. Ahhh, nice to see the little sprouts popping out. Sister Shirl invited us over to see her garden breaking ground. Of course she must repent. She has reached 80 and said SHE WAS NOT PLANTING THIS YEAR. So much for her word. HAHA!

    1. I can imagine how hard it would be to give up completely.
